Bio:

Robert (Bob) Rakosi, MD is a distinguished surgeon with board certifications in both

General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care. He honed his expertise through a

two-year AAST-accredited fellowship in Acute Care Surgery, completed at the UNLV

Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UMC in Las Vegas in 2024. Following this,

Dr. Rakosi joined Southern Nevada Surgery Specialists to continue to provide care

in the local Las Vegas area.

Dr. Rakosi earned his medical degree from Wright State University Boonshoft

School of Medicine in 2013. He then undertook general surgery residency at Keesler

Medical Center, Keesler AFB, MS, where he trained to become an active-duty

Air Force general surgeon. His subsequent assignment at RAF Lakenheath in

England involved caring for the local Air Force community and supporting various

operations across Europe and Africa as part of the Ground Surgical Team. Dr. Rakosi

also held the position of medical director for the general surgery department and

collaborated with British surgeons and trauma teams in NHS settings, including

Royal London Hospital. He then finished his Air Force commitment at Keesler AFB,

this time working as a teaching attending with the general surgery residency.

Upon completing his military service, Dr. Rakosi specialized in Surgical Critical Care

and Trauma Surgery through an ACS fellowship at the UMC Trauma Center in

Las Vegas. There, he received the Nevada COT Research Award and served as a

track-side trauma physician at the inaugural Las Vegas F1 Grand Prix. Dr. Rakosi is

dedicated to advancing trauma care in the rapidly developing Henderson area and

remains committed to delivering exceptional care to its residents.
